30 Day Challenge // Day 25 // Something From Mythology
Though I’m not really a fan of where the story has gone, I’ve always loved the mythology of Doctor Who. Recently the 50th Anniversary depicted a Gallifreyan painting which was a moment in time captured in a picture, literally. So, I was curious about what a Gallifreyan sculpture might look like. I imagined it as a TARDIS in a time where everything is gone and all that’s left of these relics is the box of time they contained and the shell has withered leaving only scrambled, fluctuating moments in time from when it was alive. Almost like it’s dreaming.
I find it really interesting that the historical men like Vincent Van Gogh, Winston Churchill and Richard Nixon portrayed in Moffat Who are always three dimensional and treated respectfully, while the historical women like Elizabeth the First and Nefertiti, are always love sick idiots drooling over the Doctor.
It almost seems like Moffat cannot take women seriously, even if they ruled nations.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
I really hope you can appreciate the blood sweat and tears that went into finishing this by the 14th. Hand painting the same thing 16 times is.. fatiguing. But I’m pretty happy with the result, so I guess it was worth it. It was very experimental mixing my portrait painting with animation. I may do more in the future but if so they will definitely have less frames cause damn. Also this is actually a bit bigger, you can see the full size here (x).
